The Family Empowerment Team can offer free and voluntary services to assist families in caring for their children. The focus of Family Empowerment is to strengthen family functioning and keep families together by focusing on increasing parenting strategies and understanding child development, increasing social and emotional competence of children, increasing parent resiliency and positive relationship, and increasing connections to concrete supports during times of need. The goal of Family Empowerment is to increase community engagement in family well-being through home-based services.

The Family Resource Center provides information on many Hilltop programs for families and children.
Nurse-Family Partnership (Mesa County Public Health)
Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) connects first-time moms to their own free personal nurse, giving personalized support to the mom and her baby. NFP helps first-time moms have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and become the mom they want to be. The program offers information like preparing for labor and delivery, baby’s development, feeding and sleeping education, and early child care. New moms are linked to community resources and provided educational gifts and books.
Western Slope Native American Resource Center (WSNARC)
We are virtual and can come and meet with you. Advocating for Native Americans/Alaskan Natives across the Western Slope. WSNARC is here to help with Medicaid, SNAP, Medicaid waiver programs, Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), and one-on-one help with any resource needed. WSNARC was founded to advocate for health equity in partnership with the communities we live in.
